René Francalanza

René is a 2025 musical theatre graduate from Trinity Laban, and is a very strong actor-musician. She has been involved in various productions, including High School Musical (Martha Cox) and Urinetown (Josephine Strong and Vocal Captain) and René was also in the featured ensemble in her final third year show, The Wedding Singer.
René is an experienced clarinettist who has performed in pit bands as the principal clarinettist in Iolanthe, The Addams Family and Beauty and the Beast. She has played the clarinet from a very young age and she picked up the flute, saxophone and bass clarinet along the way. René studied classical clarinet performance at Trinity Laban from 2021-2023 and achieved a Diploma in Higher Education with Distinction, before transferring onto the musical theatre course after two years of classical study.
